Privacy Policy — Money Mentor

Money Mentor is a personal finance management app for Android, developed by JDevStudio, that helps you track accounts, transactions, budgets, and recurring payments. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used and stored, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

To provide its core features, Money Mentor collects and processes the following information:

• Account information: the username, email address, and password you provide when you register or sign in. Your password is transmitted securely and is never stored in plaintext.
• Financial data you enter: account names, balances, and types (Savings, Spending, Cash, Credit Card); transactions (amount, date, category, type, and description); monthly budgets and planning entries; and recurring payment schedules (amount, frequency, and next due date).

We do not collect any financial data beyond what you choose to enter into the app.

How Your Data Is Used & Stored

The financial data described above is transmitted securely over HTTPS to Money Mentor's backend servers so that your accounts, transactions, budgets, and recurring payments stay in sync across your devices.

Your session's refresh token is stored locally on your device using Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences, encrypted with AES-256-GCM. It is used to keep you signed in without storing your password on the device.

Permissions Used

Money Mentor requests only the permissions it needs to function:

• Internet (INTERNET): required to sync your financial data with the Money Mentor backend.
• Network state (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): used to check connectivity before attempting to sync, so the app can respond gracefully when you're offline.

Money Mentor does not request access to your camera, location, contacts, or device storage.

Third-Party Services

Money Mentor uses Firebase (Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring), a set of services provided by Google, to help us identify crashes and monitor performance. These services collect technical data such as crash reports and performance metrics — they do not have access to your financial data. You can read more in Google's Privacy Policy.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Your information is shared only with the Money Mentor backend (to provide the app's core functionality) and the third-party services listed above (for the purposes described), and only to the extent necessary for those purposes.

Your Rights & Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. See our Delete Account page for the full process, or contact us directly at [email protected]. We will process your request and confirm once your data has been removed.

Children

Money Mentor is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL and the "Last updated" date above will be revised.
